Updates......

It seems it's been awhile since I've been on here.  I must admit Facebook has taken over my life, but it's been brought to my attention my lovely sister in law, who is currently living in Texas would like to see me use this a little more.

Right now my family is getting ready for Christmas.  I am hosting Christmas here both Friday and Saturday.  I know it's a lot to take on but this is my favorite holiday out of them all.  Friday I will have my brothers, sister, niece and nephews over along with my mom and step dad.  I am sad to say Austin and Jacob will not be with us this year.  This was very poor planning on my part.  We always try to plan my family Christmas around when Austin and Jacob will be here.  But this year silly me forgot Austin is with his dad this year and Jacob is with his mom.  Even though they will not be with us they will still be in our thoughts.  I know they will be having a blast where they are.

Everyone is chipping in with dinner.  I've been cutting veggies all night and getting the house in order for everyone.  I can't wait to spend time with everyone.

Saturday, Christmas Day, my mother-in-law, Austin, Jacob, Chad and I are celebrating Christmas together.  However, one important person will be missed this year.  Yes, Jenny this is you.  We know you are in Texas studying what you love and I am so proud of you.  Christmas just won't be the same without you.  Jan's already said she doesn't know who's going to wrap the gifts for the kiddos.  She told me this was what you did every year and she misses you.  I don't know how she's going to get here on time.  For anyone who doesn't know my wonderful mother-in-law..... she's always late...  but what she doesn't know is this year I told her to be here at 1:00.  HAHA!  No we're really not eating at 1:00 it's actually 2:00.  But if she knew that she wouldn't be here until 3:00.  I know I know.. mean isn't it?

I can't wait to share all our wonderful family memories with you.  So far the best one of the season is Austin!!! Yes my wonderful son Austin.  Austin's 12 this year and in 6th grade.  Yes, he's in middle school already.  He's going wonderful.  He's got wonderful grades, he's making new friends and he's playing basketball.  But the cutest thing that's happen this year.... Austin has a girlfriend yes a "real" girlfriend.  Her name is Vanessa.  She's so stinking cute. He's doing the whole facebooking and texting thing with her. Being mom I have full and open rights to everything typed and text between them.  And let me tell you it's cute.  Well, it is Christmas time and what do you do at Christmas time when you have a girl/boyfriend??? That's right, Austin bough Vanessa a gift.  He got her a pair of earrings.  14kt yellow gold "diamond" earrings.  He was so serious about picking her gift out.  He even put some thought into when he would give her this amazing gift.  Monday (this last Monday 20th) was the school's Christmas Dance.  Austin told me he wanted to wait and give her the earrings at the dance.   I tell you my heart melted.  He's such a good kid.

I look forward to many more moments like this with Austin.  Next up will be Jacob, before I know it he will have a girlfriend too.

Jenny..... We love you and miss you! I hope you can come home soon!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
